About the Artist
Visual Artist & Art Educator. Holds BFA and MFA degrees and K-12 teaching certificate. Has served on the faculty of Boston University, Lesley College, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and the Institute for Contemporary Art in Boston. Worked as Arts Research Consultant at Harvard University's Project Zero Institute.
Currently Art Teacher at Brunswick High School (all studio courses for grades 9-12) Serves as Exhibitions Chair and on Art Advocacy Task Force for the Maine Art Education Association.
Primary Mediums: Drawing~ pencil, charcoal, ink; Painting~ oil paint, dry pastel; Printmaking~serigraphs, collographs, etchings, woodcuts;
Collage ~ mixed media; and Sculpture~ clay figures, ceramic tiles, and mixed media.
Much of the inspiration for my work is drawn from imagination, dreams and memories and focuses primarily on figurative and narrative themes. During travels in Ireland, Wales, England, France and Italy, many of my drawings are based on observational study of landscapes, animals and figures.
