About the Artist

How far can I push the design possibilities of birch bark as a medium? How can the work be contemporary, elegant, and organic at the same time? This is my daily quest in my studio in Southern Maine.
I create jewelry, sculptural mirrors, and mixed media artwork, using birch bark as my primary medium. I combine the bark with precious metals and found objects, often in unexpected ways. The forms question the nature of precious materials, and explore the relationship between nature, culture, and the self.
