About the Artist
Adam Daley Wilson is a conceptual artist who lives and works in Portland Maine. Daley Wilson's text-based work manifests in oil painting, new media, and video. His studio is in Portland Maine, two blocks from the Portland Museum of Art.
Adam Daley Wilson is represented by ENGAGE Projects Gallery in Chicago, which currently represents artists from the US, China, Cuba, Israel, Iran, and Spain. The gallery represents both emerging and mid-career multidisciplinary conceptual artists.
Adam Wilson's practice is a cognitive and emotional process, pushing the meaning of words to document and question, but at the same time leave room for viewer interpretation.
Adam Wilson is a self-taught artist with traditional degrees (Penn, Stanford Law).
Since being discovered by ENGAGE Projects in 2020, he has had a successful solo show with positive critical reviews, including a “must see” designation by Artforum, and three group shows in Chicago, Houston, and West Palm Beach.
In one of these, an international juried show with entrants from three continents, Daley Wilson was one of only eight artists to have multiple pieces selected by the jurist, and subsequently was awarded one of six honorable mentions. The jurist was Dr. Harry Cooper, Senior Curator and Head of Modern Art at the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.
