About the Artist

At Mainely Pottery, on average, the potters have been working at their craft for 20 years. We have a selection of fine pottery made from porcelain, stoneware, raku and earthenware clays. Our knowledgeable staff can tell you the differences and the appropriate care for each piece. The functional every day pots we sell are lead free and safe for the dishwasher. Our staff can show you pieces made for oven and microwave use. The selection at Mainely Pottery is often changing as potters regularly bring us new work.

The founders of Mainely Pottery are Jamie Oates and Jeannette Faunce. We opened our store in August 1988. Jeannette not only keeps the store running smoothly, she makes it beautiful with her surrounding gardens of annuals and perennials.

Jamie has been working with clay for over 25 years and still enjoys himself. You can visit his studio next to the store.
